“Growing Deeper in Faith, Reaching Out in Love”

Mission Statement of Crossnore Presbyterian Church

Worship information

We are currently worshipping together virtually; no physical worship in the sanctuary due the rising cases of COVID-19 in Avery County. An email will be sent out by 11:00 am. Sunday morning with Zoom links to the recorded service and sermon, and .pdf files with the announcements, worship service bulletin and sermon.

If you wish to be added to the email list please send an email to cpcpcusa@gmail.com.

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in Avery County, we ask that you call the office and make an appointment if you need to come by. Office phone: 828-733-1393. The buildings will be locked even during office hours. When you arrive at church, please call us to let us know you are here. And of course, masks are required.

Lent

The three traditional practices to be observed during Lent are: Devotion and Prayer (loving God), Fasting—which can be giving up something besides food or drink (loving self), and the Giving of your Time, Talents, and Finances (loving your neighbors). How will you grow closer to God, care for yourself, and share your life with others in these next six weeks?

Lenten offering

We are still dispersing funds to our partner local non-profits. Because of so many generous donations, we continue to be able to give around $5,000 each month. We have partnered with over 15 local non-profits since March 2020. If you would like to make a donation to be used for those in need in Avery County, make your check out to Crossnore Presbyterian Church, designate it for local mission, and mail it to: Crossnore Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 386, Crossnore, NC 28616.

Bible study group

Six-Week Lenten Bible Study on Zoom begins on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. We will be reading the book, Simon Peter: Flawed but Faithful Disciple, by Adam Hamilton. One way to describe Peter is as an ordinary fisherman who heard an extraordinary call. He left everything to follow his teacher and possessed a passion that would change the world. Here’s another description: poor, uneducated, quick tempered, and full of doubts and fears. Doesn’t even sound like the same man. And that’s the point. Peter was just an ordinary guy who heard and followed God’s extraordinary call. Discover how you, too, have special gifts, talents, and abilities that God can use to make a difference today. The books have been ordered and can be mailed to your home. Cost = $10. If you would like to participate just email Pastor Kathy. But please feel free to join us any Wednesday afternoon with or without the book.

Sunday Worship

9:45 a.m., Choir Practice; 10:15 a.m. Sunday School; 11 a.m., Worship; 12 noon, Coffee Fellowship. Communion on first Sunday of each month.
