“Growing Deeper in Faith, Reaching Out in Love”

Mission Statement of Crossnore Presbyterian Church

Sunday School

Sunday School is worth getting up an hour early and enjoying learning and fellowship beginning at 10:15 a.m. in the fellowship hall. The group is currently studying Experiencing the Life of Jesus. Books are $10.00.

On the Road...

Easter is the turning point of human history and the turning point of our lives! On the Road to the Cross is an eight week study allowing you to experience Easter through the eyes of everyday people who witnessed the triumphal entry, saw Jesus drag his cross to Calvary, and cried through Christ's last words. Characters studied are: • Simon the Leper and the Sinful Woman • Malchus, the High Priest's Servant • The Centurion at the Cross • Cleopas • Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea • Jesus, Barabbas, and Pilate • Simon of Cyrene • Mary Magdalene

Your generosity

We had many financial gifts that flooded in at the end of this past year which totaled over $17,000. This is over and above our regular offerings. In addition, some members of our church family also chose to pay forward on their pledge for 2018. These generous contributions enable us to continue to worship, minister, teach, care for the homebound, reach out to those in desperate need locally and globally, keep the heat and lights on, and pay our bills in the winter months when our physical congregation is small. What a blessing…thank you!

Ready your needles

The Knitting Group is returning with their needles and yarn ready to create hats and scarves the homeless shelter in Boone. Whether you are a knitter or just want to learn, please join Janis Kenyon and Marion Blue on Wednesdays, 1-3 p.m.

You helped out!

Christmas Eve at Crossnore Presbyterian Church was special this year not only because of the sacred service, the beauty of the candlelight, and the melody of familiar carols. The sanctuary was filled with young and old who opened their hearts to receive Christ anew in their lives and opened their wallets to care for those most in need in our county. Volunteer Avery is the last place that many can go in our county for assistance with food, medicine, and heat in these wild winter months in the mountains. To find out more about their services, please visit the website: Volunteer Avery County. We doubled the amount of our offering this year…thanks be to God and for those who care and share!
