“Growing Deeper in Faith, Reaching Out in Love”

Mission Statement of Crossnore Presbyterian Church

Speech scheduled

July 18 at 7 p.m. at Fellowship Hall, Dr. Karl Campbell will be presenting “Progress and Reaction: North Carolina in the Early 20th Century (1900 – 1929)”. North Carolina earned a reputation as the most progressive state in the South during the first few decades of the twentieth century, even as it continued to struggle with poverty and racism. The Progressive Movement, WWI, and the Roaring Twenties each pushed the state in new directions, not all of which were welcomed by more traditional Tar Heels. The resulting cultural conflicts created deep social divisions that continue to impact our lives today.

Helping homeless

Hats and Scarves for the Homeless meets on Thursdays, 1- 3 p.m., in the church fellowship hall. The group knits together and provides warm hats and scarves for all ages for the Hospitality House in Boone, the only homeless shelter in the High Country. Don’t know how to knit, don’t worry. They will teach you!

Helping local school

We also support our local school, Crossnore Elementary, with needed funds for after-school tutors and financial aid for needy students who would not be able to participate in after-school. This winter we were able to provide $5,000 toward the after-school and the summer enrichment program due to an anonymous gift from a member of our church family. God is good!

What we believe

A New Series for Wednesday Bible Study, 3- 4:30 p.m. begins Wednesday, June 7. “The Creed: What Christians Believe and Why” by Adam Hamilton will be the study guide for our series on the Apostles Creed. We will be considering the important questions of life, reality, and truth. Please RSVP a book ($10) by contacting the church office (828-733-1939).
